Fire has broken out at Mandala area of Mankhurd

A massive fire broke out in Mandala area of Mankhurd at Mumbai on Thursday (12 January 2017) evening around 5:30 PM. At least 17 fire engines and 12 water tankers were rushed to the spot. As per primary information, 2 people, Aju Pal and Raju Yadav have suffered injuries and are admitted in Rajawadi and Shatabdi Hospital respectively. There is currently massive chaos in the Mumbai's Mandala area. All the roads leading to Mankhurd area are heavily traffic ridden. The BMC has relocated slum residents to 3 schools nearby namely, Mankhurd Municipal school, Deonar Colony Municipal School and Mankhurd Marathi Municipal school. The fire is still raging on. The deputy chief fire officer, K V Hivrale told, "We got delayed in reaching the spot as there was massive traffic. Also, market is extremely crowded. But fire has been brought under control and no casualty has been reported.".
